In what could be the squad’s final friendly ahead of the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup, the Philippine Men’s National Football Team leaned on four different goalscorers to dismantle Myanmar, 5-1, in the final match of the PFF Tri-Nation Friendlies presented by the Philippine Sports Commission on Tuesday.
Playing in front of 4,662 fans at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, the national side struck first just before halftime, with Jeff Tabinas scoring a tap-in off Andre Leipold’s low cross in the 45+1 minute.
The home team doubled down immediately after the restart.
Picking up from his older brother Jeff, Paul Tabinas also got on the scoresheet, finishing from close range in the 54th minute to make it a memorable night for the brothers.
After the Tabinas brothers’ goals, the side formerly known as the Azkals added three more before the final whistle.
Substitute striker Sebastian Rasmussen delivered a brace, calmly finishing in the 81st and 90+1 minutes to score the third and fifth goals for the home side, while Leipold added his name to the scoresheet with the fourth goal in the 88th minute.
Myanmar managed a consolation goal through Win Naing Tun in the 82nd minute.
Both teams will meet again next month, with the Philippines hosting Myanmar on July 28 to open its ASEAN Hyundai Cup campaign.
