Lisa, Shakira, Katy Perry lead star-studded FIFA World Cup kickoff shows

For the first time ever, the FIFA World Cup will open with three separate ceremonies, with each host nation—Mexico, Canada, and the United States—hosting its own celebration.

Instead of a single traditional kickoff show, each country will have its own moment in the spotlight, unified by a shared theme that celebrates the World Cup trophy while highlighting each nation’s unique culture.

A star-studded lineup of global artists is set to headline the festivities, including Lisa of BLACKPINK, Shakira, Alanis Morissette, Tyla, and pop superstar Katy Perry, promising full-packed stadiums and a celebration to remember.

The musical and cultural spectacle begins in Mexico on June 12 at Mexico City Stadium, just before the tournament’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa.

The Mexican lineup features Shakira, Tyla, Maná, J Balvin, Alejandro Fernández, and Belinda.

For Filipino football fans, Aleph, the official media rights distributor of the FIFA World Cup in the country, has partnered with Tap DMV to broadcast the historic opening ceremonies and all 104 matches live.

BlastTV, Tap DMV’s premier streaming platform, will carry the entire tournament through a dedicated pay-per-view (PPV) experience beginning June 12 (Philippine time). The service will offer high-definition live and on-demand coverage across smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs, catering to today’s digital-first sports audience.

Fans can secure their virtual front-row access by subscribing through the official BlastTV website (app.blasttv.ph) or by downloading the BlastTV app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

The celebration then shifts to Toronto Stadium on June 13, marking Canada’s first time hosting a men’s World Cup. The Canadian ceremony will carry a “mosaic” theme, celebrating the country’s cultural diversity, with performances from Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Jessie Reyez, and Alessia Cara.

A major highlight follows in Los Angeles on June 13, where Lisa, Anitta, and Rema will share the stage for a highly anticipated live performance of “Goals,” a new collaboration featured on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.

The U.S. segment will round out the celebrations with a star-powered lineup that also includes Katy Perry, Tyla, and Future, underscoring the country’s major influence on global pop culture.
