Universal Reality Combat Challenge, the country’s first professional mixed martial arts promotion, is preparing a stacked card in its return to the Marriot Grand Ballroom in Paranaque City on Sunday, October 9.
In a report by our friends over at Dojo Drifter, Subsports Philippines standout Geli Bulaong (1-0) is set to take on Chinese MMA fighter Yan Xiao Nan (7-1) for the inaugural URCC Women’s Flyweight Championship.
Bulaong made an impressive debut during URCC 27: Rebellion as she submitted Jen Damaso via a standing guillotine choke in just three minutes.
On the other hand, Yan made her debut with the URCC a year ago during URCC 26: Domination. The Chinese warrior made quick work of Dolores Meek, stopping Meek with two minutes to spare in the first round. She then kept herself busy, fighting under the Zhong Wu Championship and Road FC promotions.
Two other championship bouts have been confirmed for the event.
The Golden Boy of Philippine MMA is scheduled for his first title defense as URCC Flyweight champion CJ De Tomas (6-0) takes on the dangerous Alvin “Kastigo” Ramirez (7-8).
Korean and URCC Featherweight Champion Do Gyeom Lee (2-1) will also make his return to mixed martial arts after a five-month hiatus, facing URCC newcomer Ryan dela Cruz (3-2). Dela Cruz is coming off a loss against Yoshiaki Takahashi during Pancrase 272.
