Already playing with just nine players, Macau suffered another setback after a walkout incident.
Damian Chongqui abruptly left the Black Knights during their game against the Terrafirma Dyip on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
With 4:28 left in the third quarter and the Dyip holding a 73-71 lead, the 5-foot-8 guard from Maryland walked to the back during a timeout, changed into street clothes, and exited the venue.
He had tallied eight points and seven assists before leaving the game.
Chongqui had been Macau’s leading scorer in the 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, averaging 22.2 points across 10 games.
The Black Knights were left with Ramon Cao, Tony Mitchell, Jenning Leung, Chen Lihsing, Phoenix Shackelford, Zhu Zhaojing, Lu Zijie, and Chao Xingzhao to finish the contest under coach Marcus Elliott.
