Morado says hand injury nothing to worry about

The Ateneo De Manila Lady Eagles are on the brink of losing their UAAP throne after losing Game One of the Finals to the De La Salle University Lady Spikers.

Third year setter, Jia Morado provided her team with 40 excellent sets but it wasn’t enough.

It turns out, Morado did all that with a right hand injury suffered during training the night before the match.

Although Morado declined to elaborate as to the extent of her injury.

“I don’t really want to talk about it,” Morado replied with a giggle when asked about her heavily bandaged right hand.

“I try not to think about the pain – mas importante sa akin yung game. I don’t want to be a burden to my team,” Morado continued.

Morado dwelled more on her inability to get Ateneo’s offense going. “The frustration on my part is that I didn’t play efficiently,” Morado said.

Heading into their must-win match on Wednesday at the SM MoA Arena, Morado is confident that they can recover.

“We’re not super down about it. Mas mada-down kami kung hindi namin alam kung ano yung mali naming ginagawa. We knew what we did wrong naman. We started strong but we couldn’t finish strong,” Morado closed.
