Valdez, Galang banner Alas Women pool for Women’s Volleyball Cup

Alyssa Valdez, Ara Galang, and Thea Gagate will headline the final Alas Pilipinas Women training pool that will represent the country in the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup in Candon from June 6 to 14.

Valdez and Galang lead the wing spikers alongside Trisha Tubu, Ces Molina, and Royse Tubino of Farm Fresh, Tots Carlos of Creamline, Jovelyn Gonzaga of ZUS Coffee, and Vanessa Sarie of Letran.

Meanwhile, Gagate of ZUS Coffee stands as the lone holdover from the previous Alas Pilipinas squad that competed in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

She will be joined by FEU’s Cla Loresco, who has been part of past Alas Pilipinas teams, along with fellow Lady Tamaraw Jaz Ellarina, PVL draftee Niña Ytang, and Adamson’s Third Tuddao.

Creamline’s Kyle Negrito, ZUS Coffee’s Cloanne Mondoñedo, FEU’s Tin Ubaldo, and Letran’s Nathalie Estreller will compose the setter pool.

Completing the roster are liberos Kyla Atienza of Creamline, Alyssa Eroa of ZUS Coffee, and Lara Mae Silva of Letran.

The national team has already begun preparations for the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup and is set to travel to Candon on May 29.

In the pool stage, the Philippines will open its campaign against Uzbekistan on June 6, followed by Australia on June 7, Kyrgyzstan on June 8, South Korea on June 9, and Chinese Taipei on June 11.

Only the top four teams in each pool will advance to the semifinals
