Gabi Bade delivered a triple-double performance to power Pasig past an undermanned Caloocan side, 99-66, snapping a four-game losing skid in the 2026 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on Wednesday evening at the Victoria Sports Center.
The Queenpin leaned on Bade and Lee Sario to make the most of the absence of the Lady Kankaloo trio of Janine Pontejos, Rejoice Adlawan, and Kris Tolentino, who were sidelined due to undisclosed reasons, as well as head coach Brian Lacap, who suited up in Sarangani’s MPBL match against Biñan.
Bade finished with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to record the league’s sixth triple-double, along with three steals as Pasig improved to a 2-5 win-loss record in the tournament backed by Aktive, tying RK Hoops-Quezon City ACT10, which absorbed a 72-89 defeat to Akari-Rizal earlier in the day.
“Nag-enjoy kami sobra. Whole game, from first buzzer up to the last, kaya siguro nakuha namin yung panalo na ito,” Pasig head coach Kyle Umengan said.
After a sluggish 6-17 start in the first quarter, the Queenpin quickly found their rhythm in the second period, turning a slim 26-23 lead into a commanding 20-point cushion, capped by an and-one layup from FEU product Yvette Villanueva, to enter the break ahead, 49-31.
Pasig’s lead proved insurmountable as a Villanueva triple, a Cris Padilla layup, and back-to-back inside hits by Mimi Mendaros kept Caloocan in a 28-point hole, 76-48, heading into the final period.
Beyond securing their first win since April 22, the victory also allowed the Queenpin to avenge their narrow 71-77 loss to the Lady Kankaloo in their first-round encounter last May 13.
Sario topped Pasig with 19 points on an efficient 7-of-11 shooting, along with four assists, three steals, and two rebounds, while Villanueva added 15 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.
Charm Natural chipped in 12 points and four rebounds, while LJ Miranda fell just short of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds, alongside two assists and one steal.
On the other hand, Caloocan dropped to solo last place in the six-team field with a 1-5 record.
Joan Camagong led the Lady Kankaloo in the losing effort with 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Sofia Felisarta and Dianne Pedregosa added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
