Improvement never stops for Romeo, Globalport

Globalport’s run this season is itself a compelling analogy for one of their best stars, Terrence Romeo.

Romeo has racked up one of his most productive conferences, leading Globalport to the semi-finals for the first time in franchise history. And like his team, Romeo does not want to stop improving and learning.

The Batang Pier did not open the Commissioner’s Cup on a stellar note though, with the team losing to Mahindra, 111-98. But as the team constantly tries to improve, Romeo says experiences like that will only make the team better.

Tsaka alam naman nating malakas ang Mahindra,” Romeo said after the Batang Pier made it back to back wins with a 108-101 victory over TNT Friday.

“Siguro nagrelax kami. Opening day, siguro lahat nagpepreapre. Malayo pa yung tournament, marami pang pwede mangyari.”

Romeo dropped 33 points, including four triples in the win over Tropang TNT, a match-up which once again featured — inevitably — Romeo going head-to-head against one of the finest guards in the league, Jayson Castro.

But how Romeo approached the game reflects how far he has gone and how much farther he wants to go in the league.

So ako nag-uumpisa pa lang rin ako, madami pa ako dapat matutunan sa kanya,” he said.

Like his squad, it’s ‘so far, so good’ for Romeo. And he does not want to stop reaching for higher peaks.

“So far maganda, sana magtuloy tuloy. Kailangan mag-adjust kami. Kasi dapat mas composed kami at nakakapagusap kami. Dapat alam namin kung saan ibabagsak yung bola,” he said.
