Quezon led from start to finish and trounced Iloilo, 87-50, on Monday to extend its winning streak in the MPBL 2026 Season at the San Andres Sports Complex.
Powered by Cedrick Manzano and John Abate, the Huskers broke the game open with a 17-point surge to pull away, 67-39, en route to their fifth straight win in the round-robin elimination phase of the two-division, 28-team tournament.
The Huskers, the back-to-back South Division champions, are chasing top playoff positioning behind Caloocan Batang Kankaloo and Gensan Warriors, who both hold 7-0 records.
Chris Lalata was named the best player of the game after finishing with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists for the Huskers.
Manzano added 12 points and six rebounds, while Judel Fuentes chipped in 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Gab Banal and Dom Vera contributed eight points each.
Only Kyt Jimenez kept Iloilo competitive, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
The Huskers held a 46-30 lead at the half despite being outscored in the second quarter, 22-17.
The tournament shifts to the Caloocan Sports Complex on Tuesday, featuring Zamboanga against Cebu at 4 p.m., Ilagan Isabela against Quezon City at 6 p.m., and Caloocan against Valenzuela at 8 p.m.
