Two-time UAAP champion Michelle Morente will make her Chooks-to-Go/Philippine Superliga Grand Prix debut, as she is set to suit for defending champions F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
After leaving Ateneo de Manila University after UAAP Season 79, Morente has been seen donning F2 Logitics’ gold, red, and black, and has been regularly attending the Cargo Movers’ games since the middle of the 2017 season. There was no question that she would eventually suit up for the Cargo Movers.
The matter of when she would play has finally been answered.
“I believe that F2 will give me the opportunity to become the person i want to be in the future especially with academics and sports-wise,” Morente said through a statement.
Morente will bring her vaunted all-around play to a team bannered by some of the best local players in the league in PSL Ambassador Aby Maraño, two-time PSL Best Setter Kim Fajardo, and UAAP Season 75 Most Valuable Player Ara Galang. The Cargo Movers also have three solid imports in libero Minami Yoshioka, winger Kennedy Bryan, and reigning MVP Maria Jose Perez.
The 22-year-old spiker is thankful for the opportunity to start her club career with a succesful organization such as F2 Logistics, which also funds her college education at the De La Salle University.
“Only few people get the opportunity to experience the support of the management and employees of F2 Logistics. I am happy to see the supporters in eye-catching yellow shirts cheering the team,” she furthered. “Also, F2, thru sir Efren Uy, sponsors my scholarship for my school which is part of their corporate social responsibility which supports student-athletes.
“I am looking forward to this conference. I have learned and am still learning a lot of things. I know it is going to be a long campaign, but an exciting one. Also, expect that we will give our all to defend the title.”
