Vanguardia says Desiderio deserves to tell his side of story

Blackwater head coach Ariel Vanguardia kept his hands off on the alleged abuse issues surrounding his underfire player Paul Desiderio.

At 1 am early Wednesday, Desiderio’s ex-fiancee Agatha Uvero posted a series of tweets baring what she allegedly had to endure when she was still with the Bossing player – enumerating the physical abuses she went through.

“I think what happens between a married couple inside a room is none of our business,” said Vanguardia after Blackwater’s 107-90 loss to Rain or Shine at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.

“I’d like to keep private whatever they’re having. I’ll pray for them, pray for their family.”

PBA has earlier said in a statement that it will conduct an “inquiry” about the serious issue Desiderio is facing.

The statement also read that the league is “confident that the Blackwater management will extend its full cooperation and assistance toward ensuring that a just determination is reached.”

However, the squad and its mother company Ever Bilena released a statement on social media, saying it will only address the matter if Desiderio consents to it.

But for Vanguardia, as a coach he only sees Desiderio as a player, citing his good work ethic.

And with it, the bench tactician hopes that the 25-year-old Cebuano also airs his side soon.

“We know that Paul has never been late, never been absent when he was not injured and he is on his rehab now,” said Vanguardia as Desiderio tore his ACL last May.

“It’s unfortunate if it’s true but you know Paul also deserves his side. Let us not judge Paul and I hope we hear his side also.

“As long as hindi naapektuhan ‘yung trabaho niya which is hindi naman when he was practicing, okay naman,” he closed.
