Valdez, Baron, Ramirez make big comebacks in Volleyball All-Star voting

The third round of voting for the 2025 Volleyball All-Star Showcase has brought familiar names back into the spotlight, as several players reclaimed their spots after slipping in the second round, reshaping the battle for starting positions heading into the final week of voting.

For Team Heart, Creamline’s Alyssa Valdez and PLDT’s Majoy Baron climbed to second place in their respective positions, while Kath Arado regained the lead in the libero race for Team Hustle. The showcase, organized by Sports Vision, is set for May 1 in Candon.

Valdez, with 14.60-percent of the votes, overtook Capital1 rookie Bella Belen (12.47 percent) for second place in the outside hitter race. Meanwhile, fellow Cool Smasher Jema Galanza continues to lead with 30.08-percent.

Baron moved up to second in the middle blocker standings with 18.84-percent, surpassing Nxled’s MJ Phillips, who slipped to third with 16.19-percent. Creamline’s Jeanette Panaga remains firmly at the top with 36.91-percent.

In other Team Heart positions, Creamline’s Jia De Guzman continues to dominate the setter race with 72.05-percent, securing her path toward the starting role. Cignal’s Erika Santos leads the opposite spiker category with 39.02-percent, while Akari’s Justine Jazareno holds first in the libero standings at 49.76-percent.

Over at Team Hustle, Arado reclaimed the top spot in the libero poll with 35.85-percent, surpassing ZUS Coffee’s Alyssa Eroa, who fell to second with 25.43-percent. The rest of the positions remain largely unchanged, with frontrunners maintaining their leads.

PLDT’s Kim Fajardo leads the setter race with 61.75-percent, while Bernadeth Pons (Creamline) and Eya Laure (Choco Mucho) sit at 36.94-percent and 29.54-percent, respectively, in the outside hitter category.

Tots Carlos (Creamline) tops the opposite spiker position with 42.08-percent, while Mika Reyes (PLDT) holds 29.52-percent and Fifi Sharma (Akari) 28.44-percent in the middle blocker standings.

On the Spikers’ Turf side, a similar trend continues, though several players have made a strong return as the final stretch of voting continues.

For Team Power, Criss Cross stars dominate the leaderboard, with Adrian Villados leading the setter race at 69.42-percent, Jude Garcia topping the opposite spiker category at 68.74-percent, and Menard Guerrero pacing the libero position at 68.61-percent.

In a tightly-contested outside hitter race, Louie Ramirez (Savouge) with 29.87-percent and Jaron Requinton (Criss Cross) with 29.43-percent overtook last week’s leader Noel Kampton (Criss Cross), who slid to third with 28.11-percent. JP Bugaoan (Savouge) remains the leading middle blocker with 28.92-percent, while Billie Anima (Alpha Insurance) moved up to second with 24.33-percent, pushing Kim Malabunga (Criss Cross) to third with 19.95-percent.

For Team Passion, Savouge stars Mark Calado, Vince Imperial, and Rikko Marmeto lead the top vote-getters. Calado and Imperial hold their respective leads in the opposite spiker and setter categories with 53.85 and 49.52-percent, while Marmeto (51.86) overtook Criss Cross’ John Pepito (33.06) to take the top libero spot.

Alche Gupiteo (Criss Cross) with 36.59-percent and Jau Umandal (Alpha Insurance) with 29.53-percent lead the outside hitter rankings for Team Passion, while Poy Colinares (Criss Cross) at 37.18-percent and Giles Torres (Savouge) at 26.26-percent top the middle blocker standings.
