UAAP postpones Nov 9 games due to severe Tropical Storm ‘Uwan’

In a precautionary move amid the threat of Severe Tropical Storm ‘Uwan,’ the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) announced that all scheduled basketball, collegiate men’s football, and high school volleyball games set for Sunday, November 9, 2025, have been postponed.

“In light of the inclement weather brought by Severe Tropical Storm ‘Uwan,’ the UAAP announces that all scheduled basketball, collegiate men’s football, and high school volleyball games on Sunday, November 9, 2025, are postponed,” the league said in an official statement.

“The safety of our student-athletes, coaches, officials, fans, and everyone involved is our top priority. We strongly advise everyone to take all necessary precautions, stay indoors if possible, and ensure the safety of your family and loved ones during this severe weather event,” the UAAP added.

The postponed games included marquee matchups in basketball, such as University of Santo Tomas versus Far Eastern University and Ateneo de Manila University versus De La Salle University at the Smart Araneta Coliseum across the junior high school boys’, collegiate women’s, and collegiate men’s divisions.

Meanwhile, at the Blue Eagle Gym, boys’ volleyball games scheduled included De La Salle-Zobel vs National University-Nazareth School, UPIS versus FEU-Diliman, Ateneo versus UE, and UST versus Adamson.

In the girls’ division, FEU-Diliman faced Adamson, UE squared off against DLSZ, UPIS met Ateneo, and UST was set to play NUNS.

Football matches at the UP Diliman Football Stadium, Ateneo vs UE and Adamson vs UST, were also affected by the postponement.

The UAAP has assured fans and teams that rescheduled dates and times for all affected games will be released as soon as they are finalized.
