Thomas Robinson didn’t offer much about the postgame incident that marred NLEX’s win over NorthPort in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Wednesday night.
The Road Warriors import was at the center of a heated shouting match with Batang Pier team manager Pido Jarencio as both teams made their way into the tunnel to head back to their locker rooms at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

“They just upset. They lost, we won,” he offered while on his way out of the venue, referring to their 112-104 victory to get back on track.
It was the same response for Robinson when asked about his third-quarter spat with NorthPort team governor Erick Arejola, which occurred moments after getting physical with sophomore big man JM Calma.
That incident saw Jarencio, serving as the Batang Pier team manager, get involved as well when he seemingly tried to back up his superior in Arejola.
“Nah, I’m just competing. He’s competing, I’m competing,” said the former NBA veteran, who finished with 30 points and 18 rebounds.
“That’s all.”
What Robinson would rather talk about was the way they won the game as they pulled it off without Kevin Alas, who will be out for a while due to an ACL injury.
He was particularly proud of how the others stepped up like Don Trollano, who led all locals with 29 points, including 18 in the first quarter alone.
“They all played good,” said Robinson, who scored 10 points in the fourth to help ward off the Batang Pier, which got to within just four after being down by as much as 17.
“Everybody stepped up and played their role.”
