Team Secret Valorant releases Gibo

Team Secret will no longer have coach Gilbert “Gibo” Sales on its side for the 2022 Valorant season.

The organization announced the release of Gibo on Thursday afternoon through its social media accounts.

“We made history together,” opened Team Secret.

“Thank you for sharing this incredible journey with us, Gibo. We wish you all the best further,” the statement ended.

Gibo was acquired by the global esports powerhouse last September. The deal also saw Team Secret pick up former Bren Esports stars Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan, Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco, Jim “Borkum” Timbreza, Riley “Witz” Go, and Kevin “Dispenser” Te.

The former Bren Esports head coach led the organization to a surprising 5th-8th place finish in the Valorant Champions 2021. They lost to eventual champion Acend via sweep in the quarterfinals.

Team Secret has yet to announce Gibo’s replacement.
