Spikers’ Turf, WMPBL postpone Sunday games due to Typhoon Uwan

Both the Spikers’ Turf and the Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League have announced the postponement of their scheduled games on Sunday, November 9, 2025, as Typhoon Uwan continues to bring heavy rains and strong winds across parts of Luzon.

The Spikers’ Turf canceled its triple-header for the 2025 Invitational Conference slated at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

The matches were supposed to feature Savouge Aesthetics vs PGJC-Navy at 1:00 PM, VNS vs FEU-DN Steel at 3:00 PM, and Criss Cross vs UST-Gameville at 5:00 PM.

“Please be informed that today’s scheduled games have been postponed due to Super Typhoon Uwan and the adverse weather conditions it has caused,” the league said in an official statement.

“A new schedule will be announced shortly. Please stay safe and take all necessary precautions during the typhoon.”

Meanwhile, the WMPBL also postponed Game 1 of the best-of-three Finals between New Zealand-Bluefire Batangas and Discovery-Perlas, originally scheduled for 5:00 PM at Villar Coliseum in Las Piñas.

“Please be informed that the Finals Game 1, originally scheduled for tomorrow, November 9, 2025, is postponed due to the inclement weather brought by Tropical Storm ‘Uwan,’” the league said in its advisory.

“The safety of our players, staff, and fans remains our top priority. Kindly wait for further announcements regarding the updated game schedule. Please be advised to stay safe and dry.”

Both leagues assured fans that new schedules for the postponed matches will be announced once weather conditions improve.
