SJ Moore showed out against the Philippines’ top high school players.
The 19-year-old athletic winger earned the coveted title of NBTC Most Outstanding Player, scoring 19 points and leading Team Hustle to a decisive victory of 108-91 against Team Heart.
For Moore, this achievement was the ultimate recognition of his skill and talent, and his hard work on the court has finally paid off.
“For me, it was about being the best out of the 24 best players in the Philippines,” said the Bohol native.
“Especially having a chance to play against Andy Gemao, the NCAA Finals MVP, and Luis Pablo the season MVP, and with all the best junior players, I’m lucky to be chosen as the All-Star MVP.”
Despite not receiving an award in the recently concluded NCAA juniors season, Moore has consistently performed well throughout the season. He averaged 19.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per contest.
His dedication and hard work have earned him the recognition he deserves, and he continues to inspire young players to pursue their dreams.
Looking to the future, Moore has his sights set on attending a university that will help him grow and develop as a player.
“Yeah, may napag-commitan na. I will announce this Friday,” he shared.
“Kasi sa basketball program nila feel ko dun ako magro-grow as a player and I can get much playing time there.”
Moore has several options on the table, including College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, and University of the Philippines.
However – according to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation – Moore has most likely chosen UST.
