Santiago sisters meet as Dindin’s Toray Arrows triumph over Jaja’s Ageo Medics

Two of the Philippines’ prized volleyball talents met in the Japan V-Premier League, as Dindin Santiago-Manabat’s Toray Arrows edged Jaja Santiago’s Ageo Medics, 25-19, 25-18, 25-23, Saturday afternoon.

The elder of the two sisters, Dindin did not see much playing time in the match as she had in the Arrows’ previous outings. On the other hand, Jaja played the entire match and was key in the Medics’ offense.

Both squads sit at the bottom half of the standings almost midway through the season, with Toray holding a 5-4 record while Ageo sit at 4-6.

Dindin and Jaja, both members of the Foton Tornadoes in the Philippine Superliga, are key in the Philippines’ bid to notch a medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, which the country hosts on December.
