Rebisco-PSL Manila drops third straight loss to overwhelming Tianjin Bohai Bank

Rebisco-PSL Manila had little to celebrate as they crumbled to Chinese club Tianjin Bohai Bank, 8-25, 10-25, 9-25, for their third consecutive loss in the 2017 AVC Women’s Club Championship in Kazakhstan.

Unlike their past two losses, the Philippines’ representatives to the regional meet never gained footing against the taller, stronger, and more skilled Chinese side. Rebisco went down by double-digits in each set as they struggled to receive, attack, and defend against the lanky Bohai Bank.

Jaja Santiago led Rebisco with eight markers, all coming from attacks. Jovelyn Gonzaga chipped in six points while Kim Fajardo had 34 excellent sets.

Tianjin only committed six errors for the entire contest compared to 15 for Rebisco. Moreover, 44 of the 75 Tianjiin Bohai points came from attacks.

Rebisco-PSL Manila continue their campaign on Monday, May 29, when they start playing in the classification phase.
