Quentin Millora-Brown’s move to the University of the Philippines is more than just introducing himself to the Philippine audience – it’s about continuing a family legacy.
“My grandfather studied at UP,” said the 23-year-old big man.
“It’s his dream to see me don the Fighting Maroons jersey and play for his alma mater.”
Millora-Brown has long been coveted by UAAP schools since the pandemic.
After starting at Rice University, he played for Vanderbilt for three years – including during the pandemic-stricken 2020-21 season. Last season, he played out his final year with The Citadel.
With an extra year of eligibility, the 6-foot-10 center took the opportunity to return to his motherland.
“Right now, I’m just really excited to meet everyone as we’ve been in touch even before the pandemic,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to spending time with my new teammates ahead of the UAAP season.”
Millora-Brown is not just aiming to bring the UAAP crown back to Diliman after losing it last season; he also has aspirations to one day play for Gilas Pilipinas.
“Of course, aside from playing for UP in the UAAP, I also want to represent the Philippines with Gilas,” he added.
