PVL: F2 Logistics seals spot in semis, dumps Army

The Myla Pablo-less F2 Logistics sealed its spot in the semifinals after taking down Army-Black Mamba in four sets, 25-15, 20-25, 25-20, 25-13 in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

The Cargo Movers are set to make their first semifinals appearance in the PVL since joining the league in 2021.

Kianna Dy picked up where she left off, unloading 22 points on 18 attacks, three aces, and a block for F2 Logistics, who opted to sit out Pablo in their final elimination match as a precaution after she suffered from cramps in the team’s previous win over Choco Mucho.

After taking the first set, the Cargo Movers slipped up in the second set as the Royse Tubino-led Lady Troopers came out and equalized the set via a 25-20 win.

Elaine Kasilag, Aby Marano, and Dy powered F2 Logistics to a 2-1 lead after the third frame before eventually leading by as much 13 points in the fourth, 22-9, after a Lut Malaluan attack error en route to a 25-13 win that helped them clinch a spot in the semis.

“I’m happy because I’m part of this. Maybe it’s one of the… naka-lista na siya para sa F2 history and PVL history and I’m happy that I’m all with these girls because they have been working hard, all of us have been working hard for this,” said Cargo Movers head coach Regine Diego.

“Nandito na kami sa isa naming goal, hopefully we can achieve more,” she added.

Marano supplied 13 points built on nine attacks and four blocks while Kasilag provided the spark off the match with 10 markers. Ivy Lacsina, who took the starting open hitter role, had nine in two sets played while Majoy Baron added nine as well.
