PVL: Creamline asserts mastery over Choco Mucho, inches closer to Finals return

Creamline claimed Game One of the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference semifinals after a four-set 25-18, 17-25, 25-19, 25-11 win over sister team Choco Mucho on Friday night at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Tots Carlos dropped 26 big points founded on 21 attacks, four aces, and a block as the Cool Smashers inched on another finals return after losing the title to Chery Tiggo last conference.

Creamline led by as much as 13 points, 24-11, off an Alyssa Valdez hit in the fourth set before Carlos finished it off with an ace.

“Actually, makapag pahinga muna kami. Yun yung lagi naming hinahanap yung recovery ng mga players,” said Cool Smashers head coach Sherwin Meneses. “Yung experience ng mga players namin malaking advantage so sana magamit namin sa Game Two.”

Valdez added 17 points off 13 attacks, two blocks, and two aces along with 13 excellent digs for Creamline.

Celine Domingo rejected three spikes en route to 11 points. Jema Galanza chipped in 10 points and six excellent receptions while Jeanette Panaga also had 10 markers.

Jia De Guzman dished 32 excellent sets to go along with two points while Kyla Atienza collected 27 excellent digs and seven excellent receptions.

The Cool Smashers are still undefeated in the tourney, extending their winning streak to five games.

On the other hand, Kat Tolentino led the way for the Flying Titans with 13 points on 11 attacks and two blocks while Isa Molde had four points along with 13 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions.Chery Nunag and Aduke Ogunsanya added eight points and seven points, respectively.

Deanna Wong recorded 35 excellent sets and three points while Denden Lazaro-Revilla had 18 excellent sets and 15 excellent receptions.

The second match between Creamline and Choco Mucho will be on Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Mall of Asia Arena.
