After going through three do-or-die games to get to the Finals, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Lady Altas have built up supreme confidence.
From erasing a 22-11 deficit to taking down the top seeds, the Lady Altas have thrived under the pressure of being underdogs.
Their poise showed in Game One of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Finals.
Playing perhaps their best game of Season 94, the Lady Altas puzzled the two-time, defending champions Arellano University Lady Chiefs to take the series lead.
After several weeks of playing from behind, Perpetual now holds a slight cushion. Even if they are no longer the underdogs, Perpetual head coach Michael Cariño believes his players will still have an edge.
Each Lady Altas contributed in Game One with Cindy Imbo leading the way with 18 markers. And for them, they are living a dream that they don’t want to wake up from.
So lahat tinatrabaho natin.”
If this trend continues, the once bottom-dwelling Perpetual can lift the title on February 8.
