Just as Game One of the semifinals series between top-seeded Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws and the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles was about to begin, an unfortunate incident happened.
During the pre-game warmup, Bernadeth Pons felt a snap in her left ankle. The coaching staff tried to alleviate the pain through taping, but it was not enough.
Pons could not help but cry. However, she said it had been mostly out of frustration since she would not be able to help the team. Worse, she felt it could have dampened the spirits of the Lady Tams.
Yun mentally.”
The former Palarong Pambansa Best Attacker, however, feels that FEU can bounce back in time for Game 2, with or without her.
