Nat Cosejo was humbled after winning the NCAA Season 98 All-Star Most Valuable Player award on Saturday.
The Generals’ big man led all scorers this game, producing 16 points and seven boards on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting.
Shocked was the word he used to describe his feeling after he got an opportunity to play alongside PBA legends Allan Caidic and Jerry Codinera.
“Parang nanaghinip ako. Kasi di ko naman aakalaing makakasama ako dito at makakalaro mga PBA legends,” said the All-Star Game MVP.
“Una nakakagulat kasi yung mga idol ng tatay ko saka yung mga tito ko, kinikwento nila kung gano sila kagaling tapos ngayon nakakalaro ko kaya nakakagulat.”
It was a silver lining for Cosejo and the struggling Generals who are currently dead last in the standings with an 0-9 record.
The 6-foot-3 scorer admitted that this recognition will surely boost his confidence once the second round of the season starts.
And with the news about his teammates Ralph Robin and King Gurtiza having already broken out, he had this to say for his team who is still seeking for their first win.
“Sabi ni coach nothing to lose na kami kaya dapat wala na yung pressure and yung expectation. Saka yun lang, bigay namin yung best para makabawi second round,” said Cosejo.
Tough challenge ahead already to start the second round as they are set to face the streaking College of St. Benilde tomorrow at 3 PM.
