Mojica, Soltones net back-to-back MVPs


San Sebastian College Recoletos Lady Stags’ Grethcel Soltones and Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals’ Howard Mojica lead the pack of NCAA Season 91 Awardees.

Mojica clinched his second straight MVP award and also added the Best Spiker, Best Scorer, and Best Server prizes to his ever-expanding mantle of trophies.

Mapua Institute of Technology Cardinals’ Anjo Pertierra and Dion Canlas earned the Best Blocker and Best Digger plums; San Beda College Red Spikers’ JC Desuyo claimed the Best Setter trophy; while College of Saint Benilde Blazers’ Ajian Dy was named Best Receiver. San Sebastian’s Walt Gervacio took home the Rookie of the Year plum.

Soltones also grabbed her second straight MVP Award and was named Best Scorer. The Cebuana was also gifted a surprise reunion with mother, Marilyn Mollena, whom she hadn’t seen in 13 years.

San Sebastian libero Alyssa Eroa was named Best Digger; Arellano University’s CJ Rosario and Rhea Ramirez earned the Best Spiker and Best Setter plums respectively; and CSB’s Jeanette Panaga nipped her second straight Best Blocker award. Panaga’s teammate, Melanie Torres was deemed the Best Receiver, while JRU’s Shola Alvarez claimed the Best Server award.
