MobaZane believes pressure, lack of leadership in TOB led to M5 struggles

After an impressive third-place finish at the M3 World Championship, North American representatives playing in international tournaments went into a free fall.

The Valley still had a respectable 5th-6th place finish during the M4 World Championship but The Ohio Brothers finished last in the group stage of the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup 2023 and the M5 World Championship.

For Blood Thirsty Kings captain Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun, it all boiled down to the lack of leadership within the team.

“I heard they were winning a lot in scrimmages, but it’s pointless if you forget everything as soon as you step on the stage due to the pressure, and I think that’s ultimately what happened,” claimed MobaZane.

“I don’t think they really have a true leader on the team either. And I think the pressure just destroyed them as soon as they got on stage.”

Known as one of the most outspoken MLBB players in the international scene, MobaZane believes that for NA to get over the hump, they need to send the best players to international tournaments.

“I think we need to send the strongest players that our region has to offer for international tournaments, or else we’re just going to have more of the same this year because it’s been an awful year, and yeah, the lineup could be better,” he said.

And he seems to give a sneak peek of what this lineup could look like.

“I think for the next NA CT and the next international tournament like MSC, you’re probably going to see me play with some of my older teammates. Like, I’ll probably go back in with Shark. It’s possible that Basic will be there. Maybe FwydChickn, but we’ll see. Nothing’s confirmed yet,” he shared.
