Mighty Sports PH set to make Jones Cup return


Mighty Sports is definitely back in the game

After a spectacular campaign in the 2019 Dubai Basketball Championship, the squad backed by Caesar and Alex Wongchuking looks to keep the ball rolling as they are set to compete in the 2019 William Jones Cup.

Numerous sources confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

Coming off a second place finish in Dubai, Mighty Sports is looking to retain the core of Jeremiah Gray, Roosevelt Adams, and Jason Brickman for the invitational tournament scheduled to take place in July.

Also looking to beef up the squad are some of Xavier School’s finest products, and at least three imports.

Last year, Ateneo-Pilipinas represented the country in the William Jones Cup, finishing in fourth place with a 5-3 record.

On the other hand, there is a huge possibility that two Philippine teams will join the event, as the Ateneo Blue Eagles are also looking to make another tour of duty in Taipei.

This will be the second time Mighty Sports joined the meet in Chinese-Taipei.

Back in 2016, Mighty Sports won the tournament after an eight-game sweep.
