Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto has drawn plenty of praise due to his work for his constituents in the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mayor Kit has made sure that each barangay in Cainta is being misted and fumigated on a daily basis.
Besides this, he has distributed packed meals to 6,000 of his constituents; given food stubs to construction and factory workers affected by the community quarantine; and provided multivitamins to the senior citizens, and milk to the health centers.
Meanwhile, his godson Matt Nieto remains unsurprised with Mayor Kit’s work.
“Growing up, ganiyan na talaga si Ninong — very kindhearted,” said the 22-year-old Matt. “Very unique na tao si Ninong eh.
“Simple, down to earth, and really knows how to handle situations well.”
Even prior to his election as the city’s mayor, the Nieto family had always been proud of Kit.
Kit juggled several hats prior, as he was a practicing lawyer while being active as the president of the village they live in.
“He really changed the province of Cainta, and I’m sure the people of Cainta can back up me on this. Ngayon lang siguro nakikita kung gaano kagaling na leader and mayor si Ninong.”
Seeing the tireless work Kit has been doing on a daily basis since the crisis began, Matt and his twin brother Mike have been active in doing their part for Cainta.
The twins have been gathering face masks, sanitizers, and food for the frontliners in this battle.
“I’m really inspired to help the country, and maybe hindi ko kaya ‘yung mga ginagawa niya, pero I can help by staying at home and following what they say is best for now.”
