Limitless to figure in light group in PBA 3×3 Leg 4

Just like in the first conference, Limitless App will look to become the PBA 3×3 Second Conference’s first repeat champion as Leg 4 starts on Saturday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The reigning grand champions’ confidence is surely on a high heading into the new stop following their conquest of the third leg last Sunday, where they beat fellow perennial contenders TNT through a 21-20 thriller in the final.

There, Jorey Napoles starred with 14 points to lift the Appmasters to their first title in the tilt after finishing fourth and third in Legs 1 and 2, respectively.

Not only did the Phoenix Fuels-owned franchise grow their total earnings to P1.08-million by bagging home P100,000 yet again, but they had taken the top spot of the tour points rankings as well with 230 points in this level five FIBA 3×3 tournament.

Limitless banners the five-man Pool A, which also features second leg champions San Miguel, CAVITEX, Master Sardines, and NorthPort.

The Appmasters will start their back-to-back bid against the Fishing Champs at 10:05 a.m. The guest team is buoyed by their breakthrough win over Platinum Karaoke last Sunday after starting the meet with nine straight losses.

Master will be put to the test immediately as it will open Day 1 of the hostilities with a meeting against the Batang Pier at 8:00 a.m. It would be followed by a duel between the Beermen and the Braves at 8:25.

SMB is presently at fourth in the tour rankings with 185, and is definitely hoping to maintain or improve its position since the top four teams after all six legs are automatically seeded in the quarters of the Grand Finals.

Third leg runners-up Tropang Giga, meanwhile, are spearheading a Pool B side that also includes Sista, Pioneer Pro Tibay, and Platinum.

Sitting behind Limitless in the standings with 225 tour points, the flagship MVP Group franchise will start its bid of winning its second leg championship in the conference against a hungry Platinum at 10:30 a.m.

Contenders as well, Platinum is coming off its worst finish to date. It ended the third leg at 11th place after winning just once in its four assignments.

Ultimately, Meralco is clustered in a tough Pool C together with Terrafirma, Barangay Ginebra, and one-time champs Purefoods.

The Bolts, third in the rankings with 200 points, will battle the Dyip at 10:55 a.m. to take the first step towards their goal of capturing a leg crown after two podium finishes in the last three stops, including a runner-up finish in Leg 1.

Terrafirma will also be opening Pool C action with a duel against the Gin Kings, previously the tour points leaders, at 9:15 a.m.
