Kieffer Alas has committed to Layton Christian Academy in Utah for his Grade 12 year.
The 2023 FIBA Asia Under-16 All-Star Five member and UAAP Season 87 Boys’ Basketball MVP is now taking his game to one of the most competitive prep basketball programs in the United States.
This decision signals a major step in Alas’ development, as he prepares not just for the collegiate level, but also the professional stage.
Veteran Coaching
At the helm of Layton Christian Academy is head coach Casey Stanley, a seasoned mentor with 15 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience.
Stanley has worked with top basketball programs including Iona, Arkansas State, UNC-Wilmington, Minnesota, FIU, Louisville, and Seton Hall.
His experience includes working under high-profile coaches like Rick Pitino and Kevin Willard, giving LCA players direct access to the systems, culture, and standards expected at the collegiate level.
Stanley’s leadership has transformed Layton into a development powerhouse, preparing athletes for the next stage of their careers.
International Program
LCA stands out as an international basketball academy, attracting players from around the world.
The Eagles include student-athletes from Spain, Brazil, Serbia, Montenegro, Senegal, Canada, Turkey, England, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Many of these players come with youth national team experience, bringing diverse styles of play to the court.
This multicultural environment also fosters not just competition but a deeper understanding of the global game — an important aspect for any prospect with international aspirations.
