Kieffer Alas contemplates future with DLSZ heading to senior high


Kieffer Alas earned his first-ever UAAP Mythical Team recognition this season, and the 16-year-old winger expressed his gratitude for the honor.

“I can’t say anything. I’m speechless,” said the All-FIBA Asia Under-16 team member.

“I’m just grateful to the Lord God that he blessed me with this award.”

Alas posted impressive statistics this season, averaging 20.36 points, 10.82 rebounds, 5.27 assists, and 1.27 steals per game, securing the second spot in the Most Valuable Player race.

Alas, who has yet to reach the Final Four, faces a pivotal moment entering his senior high year.

The 6-foot-2 son of Louie Alas is contemplating whether to stay with DLSZ or explore other opportunities. Moreover, the possibility of a future abroad is something he is considering.

These are the questions that Alas aims to address in the extended off-season.

“Right now, wala pang sure na where I’m going to go next. I’m just going to keep on working on myself muna.”
