Kamille Cal ready to shine in sophomore year with Nxled

Now entering her second conference in the Premier Volleyball League, Kamille Cal vows to perform much better than before for Nxled in the upcoming All-Filipino Conference.

The former National University playmaker has set high expectations for herself ahead of her second conference in the pros.

She stated that she will apply everything she learned in the previous tournament to enhance her game and contribute to the Chameleons.

“Second conference ko ngayon, I expect from myself na, of course, to perform better since nanggaling na ako sa previous conference,” said Cal.

“Ang dami ko talagang natutunan don, ang dami kong natutunan from Coach Taka, from all the experiences that I have gathered since then. I expect myself to be smarter, and I expect the progress to be significant,” she added.

Regarding the rest of the team, Cal mentioned that their recent stint in the Akari Cup will be a significant indicator of their current standing as a team.

The 5-foot-10 playmaker admitted that Nxled still has a lot of work to do ahead of the upcoming conference. Still, she remains confident that the team can make the necessary adjustments to surpass their ninth-place finish last year.

“It’s really important lalo na we want to know and we want to see where we are. Kung ano pa yung mga dapat naming ayusin, kung meron ba kaming pagkukulang sa anumang aspeto ng volleyball or sa sarili namin as an individual,” said Cal.

“Eto kasing mga ganitong liga, doon mo masusubukan yung character mo as a player. Kung sino yung mga nakakaharap niyo na hindi part ng PVL.”

Cal and the Chameleons made quite an impression in their maiden foray in the PVL, posting a 4-7 win-loss card in the Second All-Filipino Conference after defeating Gerflor, Galeries Tower, Farm Fresh, and sister squad Akari.
