Fnatic ONIC Philippines (FNOP) continued their impressive run in the M6 World Championship, clinching a 1-0 victory against CFU Gaming (Cambodia) on Day 2 of the Swiss Stage. The match took place at the IOI Grand Exhibition & Convention Center in Malaysia, solidifying FNOP’s position as a tournament favorite.
With this win, FNOP maintains a flawless 2-0 record, moving just one win away from advancing to the knockout rounds.
“It’s still the same for us—taking it one day at a time and studying our opponents. At the end of the day, it’s about doing what we can, ensuring that teamwork and respect are there, and executing everything we’ve worked on in training,” said head coach Anthony “Ynot” Senedrin in the post-match interview.
“Having that genuine trust in each other is crucial. At the end of the day, knowing that your teammates have your back makes all the difference on a stage like this,” he added.
The match began explosively, with FNOP’s King “K1ngKong” Perez (Suyou) making an immediate impact by securing a double kill within the first 1:20 of play. This aggressive start gave FNOP an early lead.
However, CFU Gaming didn’t back down. A clash in the bottom lane led to a three-for-one exchange in favor of CFU, narrowing FNOP’s gold lead from 2.5k to 1.5k and keeping the game competitive.
As the game entered the mid-phase, K1ngKong continued to dominate. By the 9:53 mark, he reached level 15 after securing a crucial Lord kill, further cementing FNOP’s advantage.
The decisive moment came at the 14:28 mark in the mid-lane, where FNOP executed a flawless team wipe against CFU Gaming. Seconds later, they sealed the victory with a direct push through the same lane.
For his remarkable performance, K1ngKong was named the match MVP, finishing with an outstanding KDA of 8/1/5.
With momentum on their side, FNOP now looks poised to secure a spot in the knockout rounds and continue their quest for the championship.
