Juan GDL ruled out of Nagoya game due to quad injury

Juan Gomez de Liaño will not suit up for Tokyo Z when it faces Nagoya anew on Sunday in the 2021-22 B.League Division II tournament.

The 6-foot-1 combo guard out of University of the Philippines has been nursing a quad injury for the entire week.

Earthfriends head coach Hugo Lopez still saw Gomez de Liaño fit to play, fielding him as a starter when they took on the Flying Eagles last Saturday at Ota Ward General Gymnasium.

However, Gomez de Liaño aggravated the injury and had to be iced after the game. Team doctors made the decision to rule him out of Sunday’s game.

Gomez de Liaño has been averaging 4.6 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in just 10 minutes of game time for Tokyo Z.

Tokyo Z is the only winless team in B2 with a 0-7 slate.
