With their backs against the wall, the NLEX Road Warriors started like a house on fire in Game Six of their best-of-seven semifinals series against the Magnolia Hotshots.
However, things got physical when the Hotshots started to rally back.
With 7:27 left in the second frame and Magnolia cutting the lead to just a solitary point, 34-35, Jio Jalalon went for a drive against JR Quinahan. The burly big man though clipped the speedy floor general hard on the face that resulted to a bloody nose for Jalalon.
After a review, Quinahan was slapped with a flagrant foul penalty two that resulted to his ejection. Jalalon was able to make both free throws before asking to be subbed out.
Quinahan, an 11-year veteran, shared that he had no intention to hurt Jalalon.
“Ejected yata pag may dugo e.
“Bola talaga ang habol ko, kitang kita naman e. Sumabit lang siya. Kung may intention yun sana closed fist yun. Di ko alam bakit ganun? Dapat talaga tinitignan nila kung may intention e,” the 6-foot-6 stretch big man said as he went back to the NLEX dressing room.
The 33-year-old is averaging 10.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in the series. He finished the game with four points on 2-of-3 shooting.
