After a standout stint in Romania, Gilas Pilipinas Women stalwart Jack Animam is moving closer to home, signing with Denso Iris in the Women’s Japan Basketball League for the 2025-2026 season.
The club announced Animam’s acquisition on their official social media channels, a move confirmed by her management, Titus Sports — a WNBA and NBA-certified agency — on Wednesday morning (Philippine time).
“Looking forward to playing for Denso Iris! Thank you for your support. I can’t wait to play for you and meet all of you at the games. I hope you continue to support us all the way. I’m excited to play for Denso Iris,” Animam shared via the team’s social media pages.
Previously, Animam led FCC UAV Arad to a third-place finish in Romania’s Liga Națională last year. The five-time UAAP champion now aims to bring her overseas experience to a Denso squad still seeking its first championship in the Japanese league.
This signing marks Animam’s sixth overseas stint, following her previous stops in Serbia, France, China, Australia, and Romania.
In addition to her club success abroad, Animam recently shone on the international stage with Gilas Women. She averaged 10.4 points and 10 rebounds per game during the Philippines’ sixth-place finish at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup.
Her decorated career also includes four top-two finishes across 5-on-5 and 3×3 play at the SEA Games, a 2016 SEABA title, and UAAP honors such as Rookie of the Year (2015) and MVP (2017).
