Inside PBA bubble, Thompson mourns loss of lola: ‘Sabi mo antayin mo championship’

Inconsolable was Bubble in Clark, Pampanga for the whole of Friday, according to some of his friends.

This as the 27-year-old utility guard of Barangay Ginebra could not even go to his lola, who passed away earlier.

And all he could do was post a message for his grandmother over on Facebook.

“Sabi mo antayin mo ulit kami mag champion bago ka pumikit.”

Thompson and the rest of Ginebra have been inside the bubble since September 29.

For his part, Thompson has averaged 11.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game this conference, steering Ginebra to a 4-0 record.

Unable to join his lola since no one can go out of Clark, Thompson vows to honor her every night through his game.

“Bibigay ko yung best ko La para sa ‘yo. Rest easy lola, I love you so much!”
