ICTSI pulls plug on PGT Eagle Ridge Leg 2

International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), title sponsor of the Philippine Golf Tour, has pulled the plug on the male side of the tournament which was supposed to take place in the Norman course of Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias.

The second leg of the Eagle Ridge tourney was set to be played from March 22-26.

PGT formally informed the Games and Amusement Board of the cancellation last March 16.

“The decision was made by our title sponsor, ICTSI,” read the letter.

GAB initially wrote a letter to PGT promoter Jhiue Castillo about the cancellation, early March 16.

“We have learned that the said tournament was cancelled through complaints from several touring pros who expressed disappointment and dismay over its abrupt cancellation and were just informed on a very short notice via e-mail,” read the inquiry of Pro Games chief Jun Bautista.

“The Board would like to know why the said tournament was put off.”

Many of the players entered the PGT bubble last March 5 as the Aoki-side of the tournament took place on March 9.

The crack field had Miguel Tabuena, Clyde Mondilla, Frankie Minoza, Angelo Que, Tony Lascuña, Ira Alido, obim Carlos, Jay Bayron, Michael Bibat, Jhonnel Ababa, Reymon Jaraula, Justin Quiban, Joenard Rates, and Elmer Salvador.

The women’s side will still push through.
