Hayden Blankley joined the calls for better officiating in the 2022-23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
Moments after Bay Area’s second import Myles Powell went to social media and made a demand for the league to ‘be better’, the 22-year-old Australian who is of Chinese and British descent also made a plea.
“Got nothing but love and respect for the Philippines and its people, but at this point it’s obvious, just let it be a fair game, please,” read the product of Texas A&M’s Instagram story, which he posted after their 82-89 Game 3 loss on Wednesday.
“As the locals would say — it’s cooked.”
The most glaring statistic that Powell noted was the free throw discrepancy which was in favor of Ginebra, 38-10.
Blankley also had a long night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena as he was saddled with fouls all game long.
Blankley fouled out midway through the final frame, ending the game with 10 points, six rebounds, three blocks, and two assists.
Come Friday and the rest of the series, Blankley is hoping that the visitors get their fair share of calls as well.
