F2 Logistics romps dazed RC Cola-Army, sweeps weekend series


In a stark contrast from their match just 24 hours ago, the young F2 Logistics Cargo Movers took advantage of an ailing RC Cola-Army side, sweeping the Lady Troopers 25-16, 25-12, 25-15 to cap their mini weekend series at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

F2 Logistics raised their formidable defense early in the match, making Army work every rally. Transitioning at a blazing pace, F2 bolted to a 13-4 lead. Army tried to rally back, trimming the lead down to five, 10-15, but the Cargo Movers quickly restored order with a 4-0 counter run that silenced the Lady Troopers for the rest of the set.

The Lady Troopers again looked dazed in the second set but, unlike the first set, they had no late run to get within striking distance. F2 served hard and built a 14-4 lead which they maintained to take a 2-0 sets lead.

F2 slowly took over the third set, beginning with a slim two-poing lead then amassing an 18-11 advanage after three straight Army errors. Army only managed to get the deficit down ro five, 14-19, before F2 sprinted to the finish line with a 6-1 burst.

“Siguro nakakasunod kami talaga sa gameplan – nae-execute ng mga bata ‘yung mga kailangan gawin,” said F2 head coach Ramil De Jesus. “‘Yung first round hindi na masyadong importante ‘yun, dito sa talaga sa crossover round kailangan namin manalo ng manalo.”

Mika Reyes led the La Salle-powered F2 Logistics with 12 points while team captain Cha Cruz added 10 markers. Setter Kim Fajardo managed seven points with 24 excellent sets.

F2 muffled Army’s high-scoring duo Jovelyn Gonzaga and Rachel Daquis as the pair managed just nine and seven points, respectively.

The Cargo Movers are still undefeated in eight matches and will face the Petron Tri-Activ Spikers on Thursday at the De La Salle-Lipa in Batangas City.
