Erram sprains right ankle in Gilas practice

Gilas Pilipinas closed their session on Monday night with a body down.

With just 20 minutes left in the session, big man JP Erram crumpled to the floor, holding his right ankle.

Prior to this, the 6-foot-9 big man tried to follow up a miss but landed awkwardly during a five-on-five scrimmage.

He did not return to the court, as the team’s physical therapist iced him up on the sidelines.

The extent of Erram’s injury is still unknown.

The 30-year-old big man, who plays for the NLEX Road Warriors, averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in five games during the Asian Qualifiers.

The 2019 FIBA World Cup begins on August 31.
