Due to the circumstances of their competitors, the Petro Gazz Angels have had to play in each of the PVL Open Conference first five playdates.
After a rough 1-2 start, the Angels won their next two games back-to-back, including a five-set win over the heavily-favored Creamline Cool Smashers.
Pero siyempre training pa rin and pahinga nang kaunti,” said Angels head coach Jerry Yee about the rough stretch.
Luckily for Yee, he has a deep team. In each of their five games, Petro Gazz have fielded all of their players and have pulled contributions from different players.
Yee gleefully pointed out that, although none of his players stand out statistically, his entire team is ready to contribute at a moment’s notice.
“Kumbaga, bundle tayo eh. We are given copies of the stats din. So tulong-tulong kami.
The Angels get their first taste of respite this week. The break will come in handy when they face the young and energetic Ateneo-Motolite Lady Eagles on Saturday.
“Rest talaga kami tomorrow, then pukpok again on Tuesday.
“Sana ‘yung mala-Creamline na game (ang laruin namin) kasi Ateneo brings the crowd and excitement. Sa sana ‘yung composure and energy natin nandiyan.”
