A day after one of the darkest moments in NCAA history, the Grand Old League has meted the resulting sanctions.
A total of 14 players received suspensions, including an indefinite ban on Jose Rizal University’s John Amores.
However, College of Saint Benilde head coach Charles Tiu wonders why there was no one has apologized for the incident – including Amores and the staff of the Heavy Bombers.
“An apology of any form would have been nice. It probably is the right thing to do,” he tweeted.
Two Blazers were sent to the hospital on Tuesday evening – namely Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis. Eventually, the two were discharged in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Currently, the Blazers are 10-3 in the standings – good for second. And they are aiming for the top seed.
Up next for CSB will be Perpetual on Friday. Tiu won’t have Ladis Lepalam (1 game suspension), Mark Sangco (2 games), and Chris Flores (2 games).
Tiu urged his troops not to let this incident hamper their goal.
“Anyways time to move on. Back to basketball for us. Hopefully, this recent incident will not shake our team but keep us stronger together,” he continued.
“Animo.”
