2025 FIVB World Men’s Championship

Cebu embraces FIVB Men’s World Championship hype

The push toward the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship gained more momentum with the well-attended ‘Set Na Natin ’To’ Trophy and Mascot Tour held at SM Seaside in Cebu City.

Worlds ambassador and Alas Pilipinas Women ace Eya Laure graced the event, joined by Cebu’s own Karencitta, who performed the official theme song ‘Electrifying’.

Adding to the excitement, official mascots Koolog and Kid Lat energized the crowd with the Alas Pilipinas Men’s rallying cry, ‘Laban Alas, Laban Pilipinas!’

“The excitement and enthusiasm toward the FIVB world championship is getting hotter and hotter,” said Ramon “Tats” Suzara, president of both the Philippine National Volleyball Federation and Asian Volleyball Confederation.

“The world championship will indeed be a unique and unforgettable experience for Filipino fans.”

From Bangkok, Suzara is keeping close watch on the country’s preparations for the men’s world championship set for September 12 to 28. He is also monitoring Alas Pilipinas Men, who recently concluded the second of their three European training camps in Romania.

Suzara, who’s also helping oversee Thailand’s hosting of the women’s world championship that starts Friday, encouraged fans to secure their tickets — via https://www.philippineswch2025.com/ — before they become scarce.

Cebu City Sports Commission coach for grassroots Gina Calvez, Central Visayas (Region 7) Department of Tourism operations officer Neal Brylle Guillen, and Cebu City sports program coach Dianne Calvez welcomed the Local Organizing Committee marketing team to the event.

The trophy tour will then head to Laoag City in Ilocos Norte this Saturday (August 24) and Cagayan de Oro City on August 31.

Alas Pilipinas Men, meanwhile, endured a five-hour bus ride from Piatra Neamț to the Romanian capital of Bucharest to catch their flight for the final leg of their three-part European training camp in Portugal — the program having opened in Morocco last week.

Before departing Romania, the Nationals also played a series of tune-up matches.
