Ateneo’s DReaM Team calls for more help for COVID-19 frontliners, vulnerable communities


UAAP Season 82 host Ateneo de Manila University, through its Disaster Response and Management Team (DReaM Team), has been helping out the country’s heroic frontliners and vulnerable communities amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

As of March 29, 2020, a total of 1,994 family bags of groceries and thousands of personal protective equipment have been distributed by the DReaM Team to 27 hospitals and 15 partner communities nationwide.

But more is needed.

“On behalf of every Blue Eagle both past and present, we are calling for more donations to be made for the Ateneo DReaM Team,” said Matt Nieto, who himself has been helping in the relief efforts in Cainta, Rizal.

“This is our one big fight right now.”

To help out, cash donations are accepted by Ateneo DReam Team through its BPI and Metrobank accounts.

Donations can also be made through the school’s partner institutions Tanging Yaman Foundation and Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan.

For Tanging Yaman Foundation, the Metrobank account name is Tanging Yaman Foundation, Inc. with account number 448-7-44800988-9. Meanwhile, the BPI account of Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (account name) has the peso checking account number 3081-1111-61.

Besides this, numerous varsity teams of Ateneo have been posting workout videos to promote health and fitness amid the enhanced community quarantine.
