Akari is taking a cautious approach with the injuries of Ivy Lacsina and Faith Nisperos.
Both Lacsina (back) and Nisperos (knee) have yet to suit up in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference. But the Chargers are in no rush to rush their return as they approach their final elimination game against Choco Mucho — a match that could determine their quarterfinal fate.
“For me, siguro no pressure muna,” said Chargers head coach Tina Salak following their crucial win over Nxled that boosted their playoff bid.
Salak noted that both players are eager to return to the court, but ensuring their full recovery remains the team’s top priority to avoid setbacks.
“Ivy and Faith, medyo matagal pa yung recovery. Still, yung emotions pa rin nila nakikita natin na gusto na eh. But still, yung body, physically, hindi pa ready,” said Salak.
“Medyo half-hearted lang sila kasi gusto na nilang makapag-contribute and yet, di pa sila ready,” she added.
Regarding their potential participation in the quarterfinals, Salak remained non-committal but did not rule out their return.
“Antayin natin, let’s see. Maging patient na lang tayo. I don’t want to hold back na magkaroon tayo ng pushbacks sa mga ganyan kasi maganda yung recovery ng mga yan ngayon. Nakikita natin may progress,” the decorated setter added.
“Sooner or later makikita natin, any day. Soon.”
Lacsina has been managing recurring back issues dating back to the PVL On Tour. Meanwhile, Nisperos missed the entire preseason and previously sat out Alas Pilipinas duties due to the same knee injury.
