The 23-year-old is coming off a five-year collegiate career with Toledo that saw him average 3.06 points, 3.42 rebounds, and 1.22 blocks in 72 games played.

During his senior year, he normed 2.83 points and 2.91 rebounds.

Edu is also currently part of the Gilas pool for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

The Grouses were the previous team of Dwight Ramos.

Last season, Toyama finished the season with a 15-45 record for 22nd place — just a spot away from being relegated.

Edu will get to face fellow big men Kai Sotto (Horishima) and Carl Tamayo (Ryukyu) in Japan’s premier league.
