F2 Logistics maintains perfect start, keeps Sta. Lucia winless

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers were overwhelming once again, outlasting the Santa Lucia Lady Realtors, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23, for their second win in the 2017 Chooks-to-Go Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

After thrashing the Lady Realtors in the opening set, the Cargo Movers saw great resistance from their foes in the next two sets. Leading 19-17 late in the second frame, F2 Logistics allowed Sta. Lucia to creep back into the lead, 22-21. The La Salle-powered squad, however, pulled off a signature late run, winning four of the next five points thanks to quick transition plays.

The third set saw the exact same situation, with Sta. Lucia ahead, 22-18. Errors from the Lady Realtors quickly boosted the F2 Logistics, allowing the Cargo Movers to close the match via a double block on Sta. Lucia import Bohdana Anisova.

“Siguro maganda lang talaga nilaro ng team namin. Mahirap talaga kalaban ‘yung Sta. Lucia kasi marami rin silang malakas na players. Siguro nakakuha lang kami ng breaks noong dulo,” F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus said.

American Kennedy Bryan topped F2 Logistics with 13 points, all off attacks. Venezuelan Maria Jose Perez added 12 markers.

Anisova finished the match with 14 points, the only Lady Realtor in double-digits. Pam Lastimosa added eight markers.

The Cargo Movers (2-0) will try to keep their winning start going against the red-hot Cocolife Asset Managers (2-2) on Saturday at the Malolos Sports Coliseum. The Lady Realtors (0-3) look for their first win against Victoria Sports-UST (0-1) on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
