F2 Logistics completes resounding sweep of Group D

Defending All-Filipino Conference champions F2 Logistics Cargo Movers showed their championship mettle after living up to their favorites tag in Group D.

The Cargo Movers crushed the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors, 25-18, 25-16, 18-25, 25-10, en route to their fourth straight win and a sweep of all their Group D matches, Saturday evening at the Batangas Convention Center.

Although F2 Logistics let the third set slip, they were otherwise in top form throughout the match. And that slip-up has been a major cause of concern for head coach Ramil de Jesus.

“Ang sabi ko sa kanila na hindi na tayo natuto noong mga previous games natin na kapag nakakuha ng first two sets nandyan ‘yung nawawalan ng respeto sa kalaban, ayaw mag-receive, ayaw mag-block, ayaw dumepensa,” rued the 10-time UAAP champion.

In each set, the Cargo Movers moved ahead via hefty margins thanks to their usual solid serving and defense. F2 Logistics finished with 11 aces and 10 blocks, of which Sta. Lucia had just 11 combined points from both categories.

“Sabi ko hindi talaga tayo mananalo, ‘yung lahat ng skills sa loob ayaw ninyong gawin. Hindi puwedeng mag-aantay lang tayo ng errors ng kalaban. Hindi ganoon kadali yun sabi ko. Bigyan niyo ng respeto ang kalaban sa fourth set,” De Jesus added.

UAAP Season 79 MVP Majoy Baron led F2 Logistics with 22 points of 12 attacks, three blocks, and five aces, while Kianna Dy added 12 markers.

F2 Logitics’ spotless 3-0 Group D record makes them the fifth seed in the playoffs, where they face the bottom team in Group C.
